Hi everyone,
I am trying to get Gemeni 4.2 image to work on my dreambox 500s. The image will flash using dream up and all will the messages will say everything is fine but the box just freezes with the image installed. There is no remote control response or picture.
I have also tried using flash wizard but I can't get this to communicate with the box at all using a null modem cable. Do i need to use a network connection for flash wizard?

I hope it is a real dm500s and not a clone as there is a timebomb in the latest gemini firmware to kill your box.

Personally I now use EDG Nemesis and like it more than Gemini now.

I would only do it by null modem.

Are you using the correct firmware?
There is a dm500 and a dm500+
Make sure you are using the correct firmware for your box.

Also try a few erases before you flash the box.

how do i check if i have the correct firmware? And if i need to change it what tool do I use?

I assume on your box it will say dm500plus or dm500.

I have a clone so I can't really tell you.

Check on the place you purchased it from, as it will say there.
Rule of thumb if new:
<£70 clone
£100ish real dm500
more than £140 then probably a plus

The firmware will say dm500 for the dm500 & dm500plus for the dm500+.
