maaii are offering free credit of $1.90 per day for limited period. The app is available for iphone and the credit is wiped every day and then renewed.
Credit can be used for landlines and some mobiles for selected countries (USA, Canada, India)
Seems to work OK.

Promotion Terms and Conditions
1. The phone number that you use to register with maaii is your primary phone number. Each primary phone number can only enjoy this offer once.
2. Free minutes can be used for calls to landlines located in Argentina (Buenos Aires), Australia (Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne & Sydney), Belgium, Canada, Chile (Santiago), China, Croatia, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Mexico (Mexico City), Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Puerto Rico, Russia (Moscow & St. Petersburg), Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand (Bongkok), United Kingdom, USA and Venezuela (Caracas); and mobiles located in China, Hong Kong, India, Puerto Rico and Singapore.
3. US$1.90 (equivalent to 100 free minutes) will be credited to your maaii account for calling to the selected 33 destinations (“Free Minutes Promotion”). For other destinations, each calling minute will charge according to our standard calling rate.
4. The duration of a call shall be based on one-minute increments. Fractions of minutes will be rounded up to the next minute.
5. Minutes given away as part of the Free Minutes Promotion will be credited to your Maaii account within 24 hours of successful registration.
6. For a limited time only, maaii will apply additional free credit to all user accounts that have credit balances less than US$1.90. The additional free credit allocations will recharge credit balances back to the original award amount of US$1.90. Account recharging will take place daily and shall end at maaii’s discretion with no notice to end users. All and any minutes given away as part of this Free Minutes Promotion will be forfeited (if not already used) 3 months after registration.
7. All Free Minutes given away as part of the Free Minutes Promotion will be forfeited and will not be credited again if you de-activate your maaii account.
8. Free Minutes given away as part of the Free Minutes Promotion are non-refundable and non-transferable.
9. Maaii Limited reserves the right to change or modify this promotional offer without prior notice.
10. In the event that any inconsistency or discrepancy exists between the English version and Chinese version, the version in the English language shall prevail.
11. The maaii Terms of Service and Privacy Policy also apply to this Promotion.
