Can someone please tell me what I'm missing as its starting to drive me bonkers

Are you using a null modem cable and a crossover ethernet cable?

If you're not using the null modem cable, make you select NO at the bottom of the screen before starting.

ok this is a bit of a mind bender got it to eventually flash but with read error saying unable to nfs read
any ideas?
: thanks :

Try the older IFA version from the dbox downloads.

thanks but that was the old version of ifa the new one i couldnt flash the box at all
at least it flashed lol

If you got an NFS error it wasn't the old 1.5.6 version.
Newer versions do a backup for the current image on the box and write it via NFS to the pc.
If flashing was ok, the box should be functional.

I tend to find using IFA a bit hit and miss. I find i have to try 4 or 5 times, connecting and then unplugging everything because it hasn't worked and then trying again. Always get there eventually.
