Hi,
I have my brothers S9 which wont accept a flash via cable, tried different timings etc.. & have spent ages trying so in the end I found that the chip to flash is the 8 pin MX25L3205d so have removed it but the bugger wont erase/flash. Has anybody done one this way before? Cheers

when I got my s10 I bought blank flash chips because of the lack of jtag port, but never had to program or use the chips.I was always able to recover via rs232 and the loader v2.0.0c.
I suppose there is an spi programmer out there that will do it.

Thanks for reply Slugworth, it was your thread on another forum that identified the chip. Im trying using my willem which does support these chips but just gets buffer error & doesnt seem to have facility to erase either? Might have a bash with labtool & see if that does it.

there is a freebie spi programmer that works off the parallel pc port, but I never tried it.

Thanks for that, will look it up later on & let you know how I get on.
