Feelin really p*ssed off...

....I'm feeling really pissed off at the moment, I'm admin on forum similar to here with 2 friends, things were going good up until a week ago when some little...(don't know wot to call him).....came along and asked for us to give him access to another part of the forum, this part of the forum was for paid members only, so he got so pissed off he started with the keyboard abuse to members of staff so we banned him, a few hours later our site goes down, contacted the host and they say we are shut down due to having certain links on our site that were copyrighting, im not sayin we are angels, we had a few mp3 links, the odd xxx pass , nothing different to any other forum, so to cut a long story even longer,,,,,the member in question is the person who decided to contact our host and get us closed down, wots everybodys thoughts on this kind of behaviour, would u have done the same if u hadn't got ure way???

just email your host back and say you have checked your forums and del all the bad post on there and you have now started to add mods to keep a eye on it ,,sure there would give you your hosting back ,,i did the same thing a few years a go

nah mate were done with the host they can keep the board,,,we`re just so pissed off that all the work that was put in was ruined by one fuckin arsehole if u would excuse my french, we would get into more bother if we asked for it back, theres a chance our so called host could report us to higher authorities, so we dont want to take the chance,,,,,,all i can say to this clown is,,,jealousy is a lousy thing to have....:Kickassro

As long as no copyrighted material was hosted then everything should be fine shouldnt it? At least thats what i thought

Just tell your host that you will stop linking to mp3s and porn sites but im pretty sure its not illegal if you dont actually host the files correct me if im wrong though

think these people are right m8 find another host, and to the arsehole who reported you i hope he gets banned everywhere, this forum and others out there are a bloody saviour to many of us out there and long may it continue.

first of all, thank you to everyone who replied to this post,,,,,as far as contacting the host goes,,they can go f*ck themselves as well, if and wen we do decide to get another host we`re goin to have to change the forums url,,as in give the site a new name coz if we dont the ppl who got us shut down will just keep tryin to do it again and again....

Never let P*** like him get you down m8 for every P*** there is 100 or more good users. I can understand how you feel and i would most probly feel the same but pick your self up and start again he hasnt won then has he.

m8 if he emailed your host ask to see a copy of the email. Most hosts should give it to you. Usually in order for them to take you down, a proper DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) notice is meant to be issued by the copyright owner (trust me, I get a few each week )

In the future try a bigger host who will be able to detect bogus DMCA notices.

If in doubt host "offshore" in Malaysia/Hong Kong. Warez and Warez linkage is still allowed

You should at least have a backup of the forum?

Can you not go to another hosting and restore a recent backup?
