Well, that puts the kibosh on their season 😆

My guess will be a transfer ban and fine with no points deduction, as per Chelsea, Man City.

Looks like Everton have been charged aagain with further FFP irregularities and together with Forest...

The Premier League have introduced new guidelines to ensure any basic financial breaches are dealt with in time for punishments to be handed out in the same season as a charge is brought.

To charge Everton twice in the same campaign would be controversial, however, particularly given Manchester Cityare facing 115 Premier League charges for finanvial irregularities, but the case against them is yet to be heard and is expected to drag on for considerably longer.

The Toffees have appealed against their 10-point deduction and a new disciplinary commission is set to convene to hear the case.

Forest have also been accused of a breach of the regulations, with both clubs said to be preparing robust defences.

Forest were at risk having spent around £250million on new signings since securing promotion from the Championship in 2021-22, although they are likely to point to the £47.5m summer sale of Brennan Johnson to Tottenham, which came after the accounting cut-off, as mitigation.

Everton have received a lift in their fight to avoid relegation after a record 10-point deduction for a breach of Premier League profit and sustainability rules was reduced to six points on appeal. Sean Dyche’s team now sit 15th in the table on 25 points.

The club were hit with the biggest sporting sanction in Premier League history in November for breaching financial rules by £19.5m up to 2021-22. Everton, having long denied any breach, admitted during last October’s hearing to breaking the permitted £105m losses over a three-year period by £9.7m. The club still face a second Premier League charge for the period ending 2022-23.

Everton released a statement after the news was revealed which read: “While the club is still digesting the appeal board’s decision, we are satisfied our appeal has resulted in a reduction in the points sanction.

“We understand the appeal board considered the 10-point deduction originally imposed to be inappropriate when assessed against the available benchmarks of which the club made the commission aware, including the position under the relevant EFL regulations, and the 9-point deduction that is imposed under the Premier League’s own rules in the event of insolvency.

Joke of a decision.

Oh look Everton at risk of going down give them 4 points back.

PL needs to grow some balls.
Not a joke if your a Evertonians mate. It's been to appeal. And they admitted making 2 wrong decisions, so give us our hard earned points back. Everybody rubbing there hands together when they were deducted. Same people will have to get on with it now it's changed. Like it or not..... Paul

are they not due another case to be heard may lose them again ?

Sure is mate. Maybe some joy back for people who arnt Everton fans. If that cheers them up, so be it..... Paul

Well I for one hope they don't get stung again and hope they do stay up. The more northern clubs in the top division the better. Some people take the whole rivalry thing a bit too serious IMHO.

Everton handed a further FFP points deduction today;

Everton's new two-point deduction drags them closer to the relegation zone but Sean Dyche's side remain above the bottom three.

That's a total of 8 pts this season.

The Toffees' second punishment for breaches of the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules see them swap places in the table with Brentford as they fall down to 16th.

Yer 8 in Total. Probably the last points ever to be taken, now new rules coming in. Leaving city, Chelsea /Leicester and the likes chuckling away. Just have to dig in and go again.... Paul

Everton have officially lodged an appeal against their two-point deduction for a second breach of the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules (PSR).

The Toffees, who were docked six points earlier this season for breaking PSR rules in the assessment period up to the 2021-22 season, were handed another penalty last week for the three-year cycle to 2022-23 after admitting a breach of £16.6m.

The appeal hearing over the second points deduction is expected to take place in the next couple of weeks.
