2,000 points on Tesco iPods
2000 Extra Bonus Clubcard Points with any iPod Nano, Classic or Touch - Tesco.Direct
Ends Fri! Get £60 Tesco rewards on £130 iPod. Get an extra 2,000 pts on certain iPods online. While worth £20 instore, convert into Rewards and they're worth up to £60. See the Deals List: High Street Sales
What's the deal? Until Friday 5 Nov Tesco* is offering an extra 2,000 points on certain Nano, Classic or Touch iPods when you buy online (Tesco's website says the offer ends 30 Nov - but that's wrong, Tesco has confirmed it's 5 Nov so if you're doing it go quickly).
Most of the Tesco iPods are within £10 of the market's cheapest anyway, so the extra points (provided you'll use them on rewards) make it far and away the cheapest.
Why are these points worth up to £60?
While 2,000 points are only worth £20 in store, if you convert them into Tesco rewards vouchers to use on days out, magazine subscriptions, breakdown etc you'll get 3x their value in store, around £60.
Do check what you're redeeming on though as this is based on the list price, so ensure that's an accurate reflection.
How does this shape up?
Here are a couple of example savings:
Tesco price ...if points used in store (£20) ...if points used on rewards (£60) Cheapest elsewhere (source: Megashopbot)
8GB iPod Nano £129 £109 £69 £117
16GB iPod Nano £159 £139 £99 £165
8GB iPod Touch £189 £179 £129 £175
Why is it three times not four times value?
You should get the points in your December statement - Tesco is changing the Clubcard scheme on 6 December so the value of rewards is being slashed from x4 to x3 (see the Tesco cuts rewards newstory). Also due to timing - you won't be able to use these on Tesco's double-up scheme over Christmas.
