2,000 points on Tesco iPods

What's the deal? Until Friday 5 Nov Tesco* is offering an extra 2,000 points on certain Nano, Classic or Touch iPods when you buy online (Tesco's website says the offer ends 30 Nov - but that's wrong, Tesco has confirmed it's 5 Nov so if you're doing it go quickly).
Most of the Tesco iPods are within £10 of the market's cheapest anyway, so the extra points (provided you'll use them on rewards) make it far and away the cheapest.
Why are these points worth up to £60?
While 2,000 points are only worth £20 in store, if you convert them into Tesco rewards vouchers to use on days out, magazine subscriptions, breakdown etc you'll get 3x their value in store, around £60.
Do check what you're redeeming on though as this is based on the list price, so ensure that's an accurate reflection.

Why is it three times not four times value?
You should get the points in your December statement - Tesco is changing the Clubcard scheme on 6 December so the value of rewards is being slashed from x4 to x3 (see the Tesco cuts rewards newstory). Also due to timing - you won't be able to use these on Tesco's double-up scheme over Christmas.
