CD & DVD dvd dvd+

Just a cautionery tale for anyone about to buy a dvd writer.
Do your home work as there is apperently 2 differnent formats
dvd+ and dvd the former i have been told is phillips standard although i have seen rioch and a memorex model on the +
Anyway apparently the media for the + is far more expensive than for dvd. Does anyone have any more gen on this.

I have a DVD+ writer , I am attempting to source a cheap supply of media, so far used Intenso at £1.50 a disc but did not work, and used Datawrite at £2.00 a disc once again did not work. Used Philips and Verbatim both excellent and played in everything I have tested it in. Even machines that do not usually play copies.
