Dumb question on sockets from ebay

Has anyone bought any electrical sockets from ebay before, some on there are very cheap compared to all the local retail stores, I'm just worried about the safety aspect of it, has anyone had any problems with them?

I'm thinking of buying these.

Just a guess but perhaps they have no CE marking (or a real CE mark, after proper testing, which I assume for sockets like this is available only after tests are conducted by a notified body).

Fitting something non-conformant might invalidate insurance.

Had a look at these sockets.

They look fine to me and price seems fair.

For that price you could buy one and examine it once you received it. If they are okay then order some more.

thanks for the reply guys, I'll order one like 'donketnuts' mentioned and check it out. don't want to compromise on safety where kids and electric are concerned.

Ask the supplier for a CE "Declaration of Conformity". These can not be sold without one.
