dreambox operation via pc?

Can I control my dreambox DM500S using a pc instead of the remote control to carry out functions like channel change and setup?

With many images you can. Just type your dreambox IP into your browser like Iexplorer or Firefox and you should get the log-in username/password. Then once logged in you will see all sorts of goodies you can do.
So just type in your address bar- 192.168.1.5 etc or whatever your dreambox ip is.
