Hallo,

i´ve downloaded this image and it runs fine on my sunray solo2 V2 box.
With other images i have instability, freezers and random reboots, but this and the openpli 4 with gstreamer 1.6 are the only ones that
function fine.

But one thing:

Are in this image really the patched drivers???, because i have compared them and they are different..., also they are not write-protected...

So i´m not sure if this image is really safe or is there another timebomb (christmas?) or so.

regards

Rainer

ramiMaher is the lead patcher for sunray clones and the drivers are patched although if you compare them there is only a few bytes difference.

ramimaher does not see the need to write protect the drivers and infact you can still use original images on the sunray solo2 although i feel not advisable without the patched drivers.

No raminaher and others from the sim2 team do not write protect the drivers .

I was just confused, because in the other images there is always the same patched driver, which is also available separatedly. In this image the driver is different from the patched 3.13.5 driver from june 23rd 2015.

As mentioned by Ferret, RamiMaher (and gjstroom) images generally use latest patch patched drivers available at that time. Currently the latest drivers are dated 23rd June 2015 as you mentioned.

Images I've personally patched will have write-protected drivers but this is just something I do extra although as Ferret mentioned some Sunray's can accept original drivers but I personally still use patched drivers.

Hallo,
i´ve seen, that this image is uploaded again by Nov. 1st, i think now the driver are patched???

Yes, image was re-uploaded again.
