is it possableto divorce the sly card from the box and restore all factory defaults

Well if you want to restore factory default then yes you can do this (although not always). However, factory default (also known as virgin) will not allow any use of the card until Sly switch it on! So it will be 'busted' if you restore to factory setting.

If you want to un-marry and use card again, then the answer is- no, there isn't a way.
