As most of you will already know the Lite-Ons can now have their dvd-key read with the help of a simple Max232 serial interace.

Here are the soldering points for the interface.

Thanks for that mate, I didn't know that there had been any progress with the Lite Ons, top stuff mate.

From what I've read on another forum the iextreme firmware has to edited with a hex editor, as to what part has to be changed and what it has to be changed to is unknown at present, well to me anyway. It'll be this way until an updated version of Firmware Toolbox is released.

Enjoy the wait.

Toolbox will never support it.

Wonder if he incorporated the anti passkey patch....... ;)

I'd never trust / use it and it doesnt seem to rely on the unique inquiry bin

If you call giving E66 or 'unstealthing' the firmware support, well........

Ill stick to Hex Editing, and asking Caster about FirmTool ;)

Use at your own risk

Sylar - really think twice before using this.

I don't know much about hex editing so a tool would be easier but I hear your warnings mate. I've used ultraedit before so if its a case of navigating to an address and changing values then I'd be OK with that, I hope it is something simple like that.

There is no 'good' program out.

Only ones that do part of one thing and not another.

Check the tutorial out in the 360 F/W TB 4.7 download

Note that it doesnt even mention Toolbox 4.7 ANYMORE

This is largely due to this thread as Its where I first seen the 4.7 release and spoke to Caster - it was promptly removed.

It gives a guide for Hex Editing, if using 360 Drive Switcher, dont rely on it for Samsung replacements, It can be used, but very carefully.

If you are unsure, just ask mate.

Safety first - Ive PM'd violentj to ask him to edit his post with warnings.

I've just read thru the tut and it's great, if I do get a new machine (HDMI Port) I reckon I'd be OK but will ask if stuck, thanks mate and thanks to all involved, u guys rock.
