I have just JB my 3gs from orange, and seem to remember reading somewhere that you can set a custom SMS sound once its JB.
So how do I do it. lol
So how do I do it. lol
You need to convert it to .aiff format, then connect with the likes of WinSCP, rename the file you converted to one of the stock ones, there are 6 of them named
sms-received1.caf to sms-received6.caf
btw...when you connect with WinSCP, the folder the files are in is.
System/Library/Audio/UIsounds
Cheers Jaffa I think... lol. You got a tut I can follow please, and a link to this WinSCP program. Thanks mate.
No tut for you m8...sorry. I just googled WinSCP and installed it. I will make this up as I go along...lol
Connect iphone to pc and open Winscp. start a new session. username is root and password is alpine.
You also have to have Openssh activated on the iphone, if not already done you can get that from cydia or installious.
just convert the ringtone and rename it as stated in earlier post and pop it in the correct place overwriting the original.
I used Switch Audio converter for converting to .aiff format. Just shout if you need it.
Ha ha. Cheers Jaffa, although still looks a bit complicated to me
Can you do it for me jaffa, if I send you the file...... lmfao ;D
Even if I converted it, you still need to get it on the iphone with WinSCP or similar. The psp is more complicated, doing this is a piece of pi$$......honest.

You got to ask mate. lol.
Will take a look, and thanks for the help.
How do I do this please Jaffa mate, remember seeing ssh thing on cydia somewhere when it first installed, but not sure how to activate it.
Cydia/search type openssh and if there is a tick at it then its installed, if not then click on it and install it.
Thanks mate, awesome yet again. I have converted the file, and downloaded WinSCP, will update my sms tone shortly. lol Thanks for all the help peeps.
