Step 1: Navigate to “General” under the “Settings” menu.
Step 2: Select the “Remotes” menu option.
Step 3: Choose the “Learn Remote” tab.
Step 4: Once you’re ready with your new remote, press the “Start” button.
Step 5: Follow the on screen instructions to complete.
Congratulations! You’re now able to control your Apple TV with the same remote as your television and surround sound setup. Keep in mind that you should still hold onto your Apple TV Remote in case something goes wrong.
