chnaging dvd drive

can someone tell me how hard this is to do im gonna change this or th hd i think my drive is on way out i have no trob installing games to hd but playing them can be a prob from the dvd my xbox as a executer chip and i think evox dash if thats right im also looking at up dating my dash as the media player wont play new divx files i have no doubt due to codecs and info here would also be really helpfull cheers.

i had this problem so i used a pc dvd rom drive there is a tut at www.xbox-scene.com

all you need is a y power splitter and it works a treat plays all media and cd-rs.

cheers for replies ill have a go, gopher2005 can use any dvd rom because i was told you can only use certain ones
