I have been informed of a number of cases where wallets, bags etc are being stolen at peoples places of work. The victim is then telephoned by the thief reporting to be from your bank saying that the bank suspects someone is trying to with draw money from your account and requests the details of your account including your PIN. The thief then takes money from your account and uses it in shops. NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR PIN.

Wouldn't you need to be pretty daft to fall for this?

Quite! I really don't think DW members are that stupid.

(at least I hope not )

Its funny that in hidsight, the vitims have all stated that they feel really stupid. But when you get the phone call and realise you've been robbed, it appears that you can get a momentary lapse of reson. In a spate of incidents at a well known computer services company from 4 attemps, 2 gave out there PIN!! Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Of course the other thing to bear in mind is that this could be part of a sting and the victim could actually be in on it and claim the money back because it was deemed fraudulent use.
