cdkeys xbox live code

I've been on live for many years and never got round to changing from the expensive 1 month subscription. Decided to get 12 months' from cdkeys but how do I update my sub on the xbox one?
I looked at the cdkeys FAQ page and reckon the instructions must be for the 360.
My 1 month doesn't end till tomorrow, I don't know if thats' the reason I can't see how to enter a code.

Googling just seems to bring up codes for games or a squeaky voiced kid about 8 years old who flies through it on youtube to make himself look like a master, lol.
My code is only 11 digits long whereas I'm seeing 25 digits being mentioned.

Can anyone put an old git out of his misery?

only ever done my Son's chookey Pal. Logged in to xbox live via computer
