Can you download games from the net?

I was just wondering if there are any sites that you can download Playstation 1 or 2 games from, my apologies if this is a stupid question but I am new to this and would appreciate any help. Thanks.

you can also use file sharing programs like edonkey, direct connect and morpheus. Alternatively use IRC, theres loads of people serving these "backups"
