can vix run plugins from a timer?

ie rats channel updater so this automatically runs once a day or week without having to manually run the plugin?

Crond works fine on Vix.

The trouble with auto updating the Bouquets would be forcing forcing users to update when they might not be bothered with that certain update
then they have the inconvenience of updating their regional channels
