XP firewall wouldn't stop it but other firewalls would IMO.
What firewall you got running m8 ?

do this first click run and type cmd, when you get the command prompt type ipconfig look at the default gateway this is the address that you type into the address bar this will get you to your router, if this fails have a look here.

trying this m8 when prompt box opens i get flashing cursor but i cant type anything at all when i go to exit the programe it says programe not responding click end now to close

programe not responding click end now to close is normal for windows xp as for not been able to type anything this is another matter, are you sure the dos prompt is setected, there should be no reason why you cant type.

Hi mate, your router ip is going to be the same as the gateway as this is the same thing. What you need to do it go start, run, cmd
when you see the black command prompt type ipconfig
then hit return

Where it says gateway 192.168.whatever whatever.... this is your router, as you have told us you have internet access

Let me know what happens when you try and http:// to the address shown

yup still not working i have set up a connection with my sons ds now and it says it can connect to the access point but cannot connect to the server
i cannot do run cmd command which is realy frustrating me

right guys sotrted that at last was a cpl of things in internet options checked that shouldny have been now im not sure how to configure my router so i can use the ds it finds access point but cant find nintendo's wifi connection what do i need to change so it will access it help is realy appreciated guys thanks for your time
