I want info on getting around the smart card on my sky digital unit, open pay per view channels etc. Any ideas?
I think the sky setup here is similar to the UK system...ie fixed satellite dish and black box with smart card socket, RS232 cable outlet, fixed to phone line, and the usual uhf/normal aerial connection. Video out to video player, then to TV.
A few free channels with basic subscription, then ones you can a)subscribe to at extra cost, or b)order by phoning company or by selecting on your remote (flash remote, tons of buttons). You can see many channels on a Mosaic (channel 1)
The system has a memory of any pay per view you order, and you can view what you should be billed for. At present I just have it unplugged from the phone line, and the company tells be my pp view bill is $0. Short term avoidance only I imagine!
what would be great would be to open ppv and additional channels for viewing or be able to wipe this memory.
I'm new at this so any advise would be sweet.
