Telewest's Blueyonder broadband ISP has launched its gaming pack today, providing what the ISP describes as "the most practical and hassle-free" method for connecting a PS2 or Xbox to their service.

The pack provides a router, ethernet cables, and a second IP address to allow customers to share their Blueyonder connection between their PC and their gaming console. The initial set-up fee is £25, followed by a £5 per month charge.

The gaming pack isn't yet available to customers in ex-Eurobell regions nor those who use self-installation packs. Other customers are able to order the pack from the self-care section of Blueyonder's website.

Telewest's director of internet services, Chad Raube, said:

"We're proving once again that cable is the best route to online gaming. There are a number of ways to connect a games console with our blueyonder broadband service but this is the most practical and hassle-free.

"With our blueyonder broadband services starting from £25 per month, the combined cost of high-speed access and the gaming pack is on par with some ADSL internet services offering standard access alone."

Michel Cassius, senior director of the Xbox platform and marketing, said: "We're pleased to be working with Telewest Broadband to bring their customers the blueyonder gaming pack. It's an even easier route to the excitement of the Xbox Live, which offers great games, voice communication and a persistent gamertag no matter what you're playing."
