I'm having trouble selecting my hard drive when trying to configure crossepg. Says I must 'mount' the HDD. How do I do this? Ideally I don't want to lose all my current recordings!!

The mount option will be under one of the colored button sub menus I'm sure mate,
Failing that I'm sure ferret or one of the lads will know for definite

Press the blue button twice.
Select Device manager.
Highlight the hard drive.
Press the red button for mount points.

Mount drive to media/hdd

Then reboot and configure cross epg.

On this image what's the easiest way for me to play MKV's etc via the media player? Ive managed to be able to stream media on my NAS HDD but no joy via the media on my networked windows 7 PC. Somebody mentioned VLC player is the easiest? Is that right?

Also what are the limits to playing media on this vu+ duo? Can I stream say 8-16gb mkv files or is there a size limit?

You should be able to do it with a cifs mount to a windows 7 PC

Youll need to enable samba on the image which could be why your struggling at the moment.

The vu duo sees my share, but it asked for a username and password. Is this the password I use when I log on to my pc?

Ok, we'll in that case it's still not 'seeing' my share when I go to the media player. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong mate? I notices that it doesn't even ask for a username or password now. It just says 'collapse share' or 'expand share'

Is samba enabled ? Blue Pannel extra settings.

Are you using the network browser under the network menu ?

Have you setup share options on the folder your trying to mount ?

There is a bug on blackhole that causes it to disconnect from a cifs share, try rebooting see if you can then login with PC user and pass

Ive never tried that plugin mate, are you sure it was a OE2.0 plugin ?

Always install plugins via telnet that way it will show you if any dependencies are needed for it to run, well in most cases it does.

Hi, yes its a oe 2.0 as it works on latest vix images, its a sports iptv type thing i think from what ive read, ive not had to chance to try it, il see if i can do telnet install and see if it says anything, thanks
