hi just softmodded my wii but i now have a message in disc channel saying WII SYSTEM UPDATE

is this safe to do??????

If you update you WILL lose your homebrew channel and you will have to do a soft mod from level 4.3 using the indiana jones hack. See if you can get the game with the update removed or remove it yourself. Easy done mate.
