best cable to connect laptop to tv?

i know there's many different types of cables to conect my laptop to my tv

just wondering which is the best, and pointers on where to get them from

What connections have you got on the laptop and TV? (just post model numbers for both if you're not sure).

As a general rule of thumb, best to worst:

• HDMI
• DVI
• VGA
• Component
• SCART/s-video
• Composite
