Basin tap lever lose

Did you cleanup the flange where the seal sits against it. I would also nip it up a bit more also.

Yes cleaned it out..will tighten it a bit more...if still leaking will do it again weekend

I did clean it up thoroughly made sure it was dry ..perhaps tightening up a wee bit will stop the leak if not..gonna use ptfe tape..weekend job..busy on afternoon shift

I would nip it up some more.
Make sure everything is dry and wrap some kitchen towel round it and leave it for a while and see if the kitchen towels stay dry.
