Any joy getting them to work for you mate?

Still can't get the source to show up in epgupdater so I can't select it to test :( did you get round to double checking where to put the files mate? Putting them in /epgupdate doesn't seem to work :(

Hmm, thought epgupdater was xmltv plugin as I has to download xmltv plugin and xmltv sources if I remember rightly

i added the rytec_ukvirgin_xmltv.conf from monkeyMan3 to /usr/crossepg/providers

and then choose rytec_ukvirgin_xmltv from crossepg -xmltv providers

its nearly working just epg does not populate and gives a error at the end see log below

I tried that one also and had the same error you do mate. He advised I use the XMLtv plugin instead which is why it's been driving me mad trying to get it to show up lol :)

Oh I thought the crossepg one may of done it proper. Its just downloading the data instead of reading it from the stream like how opentv works.

Those additions can be added to source unless you wanted to keep them separate.

There's only 426 channels read for virgin there against the 80 odd thousand to sly.

Gonna give it a bash when I get back on weds.

Haven't heard anything buddy, was you ever able to get the epg to populate using xmltv importer or crossepg?

Well, been playing like mad for the last hour and managed to get the rytec source working and populating the epg, the only things that havent populated were a few shopping channels, a few foreign channels and a few adult channels so nothing to worry about :)

sure thing! I assumed everyone had it working already otherwise I would have lol

The crossepg xmltv addon doesnt seem to work properly yet so ignore that one.

What you need to do is install the latest version on the xmltv updater plugin (its named epg import in plugins) I also had to install the rytec providers but if you are using a pli image they are both next teo each other in the extensions feed when you press green to download new plugins.

once both are installed and you've restarted enigma you need to FTP the two files that were shared (rytec.sources and v**ginUK.channels) and put them in /etc/epgimport. What you then need to do is rename the .channels file to rytec.channels.

exit out and restart enigma for good measure

go into plugins and open epg updater, and now in the sources you should have the option to select virmin. So its basically the same routine if you were adding anymore services to rytec but having only ever used crossepg it was new to me and might be for someone else :)
