hi jan sorry i took so long i have spoofed both my xboxs my elite which i bought from new which i spoofed with iextreme 1.6 liteon the drive version on it was 83850c and used kinect adventure to update the dash then tried the activation disc i got and this also works i can play ACB on that too so both xboxs have liteon drives with yellow wires and both different dvd versions and both play ACB

hi mate just checking as it seems strange the way you are writing your posts

spoofed means making a drive e.g sammy look like another type of drive e.g liton to the xbox.

reading your posts it seems as though you are useing the word spoofed instead of flashed.

i also just tried to check the dash version of both xboxs but i dont really know where to look when i went int system settings then consol info it gives a few numbers but there is two the same D:2.0.12416.0 and k:2.0.12416.0 so i guess it must be that 12416

I know its the latest mate, is it the official release, or is it the beta release. There are confirmations of the games working fine on the official release, but not on the beta release. It could be to do with the way the games have been ripped as they are ssv1, so the update on the disc may be damaged or incorrect. Im just trying to get to the bottom of stuff.

Thats the dash that is working for people to boot the new games.

It would seem that the above dash does not have the ap2.5 checks in it. Whereas the later 12611 dash does have the checks, so this might explain why its working for you dave. Its the only thing that can make sense.

Don't think that is the case. I have the 12416 dash and it is not working.. That is the version that comes on the ACB disc. I am using ixtreme 1.6 with a BENQ drive with no boot disk and I am getting disc unreadable. But everything else works fine.. Man I wish there was a way to get this to work.

okay mate, so you havent spoofed it, you have flashed it...........just to clear it up.

you dont spoof an original firmware to a hacked firmware.
you flash it.

you only spoof a firmware if you are replacing say a hitachi original drive with a samsung drive, in which case you would spoof the samsung to appear as a hitachi.

found an old E74 lying in the attic with a hitachi 79 drive in it unflashed. so i reflowed it and flashed the drive to 1.51 and updated to new dash.
UNRECOGNIZED DISC.
so this must not work with 0079 drives. bummer

Why do people say Samsung and Hitachi drives are safe? Is my LiteOn/BenQ not safe?:

Some drives may be physically unable to read this new security layer (AP25 layer) and thus are considered "safe" from the new AP25 checks. LiteOn and BenQ drives are able to read this layer and when asked by an AP25 title they will.

So, can I replace my 360's drive with a Samsung to be safe?

No. A drive is locked to the 360 it shipped with and cannot be swapped out. There is a method known as "spoofing"(copying some of the drive info to make the xbox think its the original) that will allow another drive to work. This is NOT a safe way to avoid AP25 checks. Even though the drive works, when an AP25 title asks for the check to be performed, your xbox will still "think" it has the original drive, so if it was a LiteOn or BenQ before then it will attempt to check even if it can't. If the check doesn't pass then your xbox will fail.

What happens if I fail an AP25 check?:

If you happen to fail and AP25 check for any reason your xbox will record this failure and your console will report back to MS that this check has failed. Currently it is believed Microsoft is collecting data for another ban wave using this information. Being flagged doesn't guarantee a ban, but MS is aware that your xbox did not pass.

I've also heard AP25 could be added to older games with a title update?! Is this true?:

Yes and No.
Because AP25 is triggered by the game boot file it is thought that MS could add this new security check to older games.
AP25 checks could only be added if the original disc had an AP25 security layer to begin with.

I have a question about this part, I have an xbox that is on live and flashed with LT, but don't really use it (just seeing how long I can keep it goin for), it came with a lite-on drive but that drive broke so spoofed a benq (so this is now unsafe with a ap2.5 check yer?), what if i buy another lite-on drive (same model to the that is broke) and reflashed it with it will this be safe again or to M$ check serials?

It works for jtag mate, think you have to use a modified .xex to boot it.
