i thought AOL servers were in USA, no uk nos.<br />Thats why they dont pay VAT in the UK. NTL seems a good ISP but they don't cover all areas, such as mine. <br /> <img src="graemlins/helpme.gif" border="0" alt="[helpme]" />

huggi, I use BTOpenworld for ADSL broadband, connections are excellent, I can achieve download speeds of up to 90k a sec on a 512k connection, the only downfall is it's £40 a month.

have ntl broadband - took ages for them to install, 3 days so i blagged them and got it free for three months - after they had been overcharging me for a whole year. 2002 is gonna be a free years worth of broadband/cable & phone services.<br />seems a good deal to me

blueyonder (telewest) and ntl do not overlap each others areas so you will usually be able to get one or the other. I am on blueyonder and its pretty good. 25 p/m if you get a phone line or 33 if you dont. 512 down and 128 up. if you want more upload get adsl from bt or another provider l

I'v been with AOL for 12 months and had no problems logging on even at peak times, however the adverts do get up my nose and AOL tries to take over at times thinking it knows better than you.<br />8780davy

aol is good but be warned if u have a non bt line!<br />i was with aol for about 4 months no probs good service, until i moved from london and my phone line was supplied by telewest. there was only one no. availiable due to the fact im on win 2000.<br />many a wasted nite on the phone to AOL! absolute nightmare. be warned!!!!!!!!!!!!! im now on telewest broadband it is top draw! <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I am with Evesham.com (yes the computer selling company!) they are in with Glow Telecom so for £12.99 per month I get 24/7 free internet access AND 1p per minute telephone calls anywhere in britain ANYTIME! not bad eh? ;-)

My m8s got aol and its tripe.he can't connect.when we try and play quake he just gets interruptions all the time and his surfing is sloooooow.I'm on bt and get connected first time every time,and on quake i can get ping times of 180 which i don't think is bad for 56k modem.I know i can't really compete with adsl/t1 guys but its the fun that counts.Everyone to their own as u might say.Bye and regards all Carl? <img src="smile.gif" border="0">

I've got an NTL cable phone / digital ** set top box. Good value at 15 pounds per month with discounted calls.

AOL on an NTL phone line is crap, and AOL were very insistant that I stay with them, even though they were crap, to the point of being rude. I give thumbs down to AOL.

In my area we don't have NTL broadband - was supposed to be september, and as usual with NTL am still waiting.

NTL removed the old cable and wireless internet access packages, and have repeatedly promised me ntlworld over the last year or so. Have never recieved it, and now hear that in future it'll be a pay service - typical NTL again.

I'm now on BT anytime, which I don't think is reliable enough, but it'll do for the time being.

BT anytime costs 25 pounds with dedicated phone line, which is the same as NTL broadband (25 pounds per month added to my bill), so as soon as NTL broadband arrives, I'll go for that - hopefully in the next 12 months!
