Anfield tickets, Liverpool home games

I'm not a member or season ticket holder, so what is the best way to get tickets for 1 single game? I'm thinking of buying 4 tickets at home against a small low-table team, what are my chances?
Just want to see a home game at Anfield if poss, but what places should I avoid for being ripped off? Or any advice to help please?

Why not send a letter to Anfield and ask about ticket availability ?
I'm sure that there will be tickets available for at least one game, if not try and find out about a local...ish supporters club and book a trip with them.
