As you say, its region free, so as long as its out in america then theres nothing stopping you buying that version and playing over here, if its not out then again, million dollar question, most are starting to wait, its all down to preference, or just get a cheap 360 or a banned console for playing early release stuff etc etc, I just use an old banned one

On the level 3 page, there is a drop down that you can set the verbosity. I think it scans the ISO more throughly, and gives a read out, which the abgx boys decipher, and update abgx accordingly. I think...... Oggy will tell ya.
