HI guys

I have read in other threads that a dreambox will decode cable channels no problem but satellite seem to be different.

my question is a mate has recently moved house there is no cable (ntl) in the area but the previous owners have left a sattellite dish and cables into the living room. If he connects a dreambox (sat compatable) will it work or does he need a sky box or card ?

Thanks in advance Sev.

You will get bbc & itv as they are free anyway.

If you get a ftv card you will get channel 4, five, five us, five life, sky three.

If you have freeview you get these channels anyway.

Otherwise you have to subscribe.

You could turn the dish (even minidish would do except in wet weather) to hotbird 13.0e or astra 19.2e and pick up some european channels with dreambox and softcam.
