500s Ireland

Hi everyone

I have set up 500c's and t's for family and friends in Ireland over the past few months.

A friend has asked me to set up a 500s. They have Sly + package.

I have a couple of basic questions as I am new to 500 s.

1) I believe that Sky is not decrypted - is this true.
2) Do I need to insert their sky card into the dreambox.

I have done a scan and picked up about 1300 channels using Astra/Eurobird however only some channels work. Most sly channels don't work but sly news does.

I have inserted their card into the dreambox 500s hoping that thr Sly channels would come in, however no joy. Does anyone have any ideas of what I am doing wrong or what else I need to do.

Is there anyone that can send me or anywhere that I can download a backed up image for Sly Ireland?

Depending on what image you are using (gemini etc) then press your blue button and 2 (addons) and install cccam and cccam config and then the sky card will work.

Thanks - I had not done that yet.

Does the box need to be networked to do as you say?

yes as it connects to gemini (or other image) server.

The only other way is to manually install it,but you would still need a computer and crossover cable.
