might be good for someone.

Just a note on full hd
If you are not connecting a blueray or a games machine to it then then 1080p makes no differnence as all tv is broadcast 1080i max

Whats the difference between 1080p and 1080i ?

Very true! Seems silly that companies advertise super telly etc even though its not that super when compared to BR or even 1080p streaming from PC.

Still a cracking price for entry level set... Also ebuyer have a very good warranty service in my past experience. If they cant replace or repair the set because it has been discontinued then they will issue refund for the value or offer alternative set.

One is a progressive scan and the other is interlaced. Havent got a clue what it all means lol but i do know that the p uses more bandwidth and is a higher quality than i.

Progressive scan "draws" all the lines for each frame. So 1080p shows 1080 lines 50 (PAL) or 60 (NTSC) times per second.

Interlaced scans draws altenating lines in an odd-even-odd pattern. This means that the frames per second is effectively 25-30fps. (Or, half of that of a progressive scan feed.)

It is said that flat panels cannot handle interlaced scans and will instead convert to progressive scan. This may well be true but you are still left with a 1080/25p image that can, and does, lead to ghosting/blurring on fast action scenes, camera 'whips' and sports events.

(I'm sure I'll be corrected by the AV room frequenting members, if any of the above is wrong.)

it may be good for someone but there really are two rules of AV buyer bewares that apply here!

1 BUY CHEAP, BUY TWICE
2 THE BEST SPECS ON PAPER OFTEN GIVE THE WORST REAL WORLD PERFORMANCE

I have no idea why those needed capital letters, sorry if I offended anyone. If you have a £400 budget there is plenty of choice, they will be all much the same. Best get a more recognised brand as the chances of possible repair are slightly improved

Sorry you believe that cheap = crap quality. Just as with cars, any individuel example could fail at anytime. I have had expensive TV barely make it past their warranty period and cheapo brands still going strong 10 years later.
