Im thinking of buying a 27 inch monitor for the ps3 the one i might buy is the LG E2742V 27" the specs are

27in LED Backlit TN display.
Widescreen.
Resolution 1920 x 1200 pixels.
Brightness 300cd/m2.
Contrast ratio 5000000:1.
Pixel pitch 0.31mm.
Response time 5ms.
Horizontal viewing angle 170°, vertical viewing angle 160°.
Anti-glare screen.

would i have black bars on top and bottom playing ps3 games as the Resolution is 1920 x 1200 pixels.

Thanks in advance

or should i get this one Acer S271HLABID 27 Inch LED Monitor.

27in LED display.
Widescreen.
Resolution 1920 x 1080 pixels.
Brightness 250cd/m2.
Contrast ratio 10000000:1.
Pixel pitch 0.31mm.
Response time 2ms.
Horizontal viewing angle 170°, vertical viewing angle 176°.
Interfaces and connectivity:

DVI w/HDCP, D-Sub, HDMI, VGA.

The top one looks to be superior spec wise but if it's just for ps3 then maybe the native 1080p screen would be better, running the 1200p screen at 1080 might not look too great and as the ps3 doesn't support res higher than 1080 the screen will have to run at a lower res than its designed to as opposed the ps3 scaling up

Sent from my telephone.

typical of argos m8 it is 1920 x 1080 just looked up the proper specs on manufactures website

Need to take care with Argos descriptions: Someone I worked with years ago coined the term "Argos Watts" to refer to their specious claims on audio equipment. You know, claiming 400W on some cheapy stereo that has thinner-than-doorbell wire to the speakers :).

Just to leave peeps know i went with the LG E2742V 27"
