every weekend i do a 200 mile round trip for the kids, 5 years ago when i first started doing this, it would cost me ~£25 and id have a small bit of petrol left. now im averaging~£48 to do the same trip, i stopped with 40 miles left to get home to get more petrol, this was in Tesco in culverhouse cross just outside of cardiff, and their diesel was
£1.49.4 a litre
its getting beyond a joke now
at the height of the fuel protests, it used to cost me ~ £40 to fill up my van (50l tank), whereas now it costs over £70 to fill the same sized tank, and the protests kicked off because of the price
americans are complaining on their news as some of them are paying $3.50 a gallon!!!
if a gallon is 5 litres (for easy maths) and we average 145p a litre, then thats £7.25 a gallon, which when converted to dollars, means we are paying nearly $12 a gallon, whereas the american gallon @ $3.50 is ~ £2.20, which is roughly 44p a litre
now, hows this for an idea
while OUR government, who is meant to work for, and listen to, US, is busy sending all our troops to everywhere else thats nothing to do with us, wait a few weeks so that the UK has NO military protection at home, then co-ordinate a full blown protest, block all the refineries, motorways, sea ports, air ports, hell, even block your local taxi rank
the police are tied up in too much red tape to do much about it, the military is everywhere else, and the government will sh!t a brick when the country stops
this crap in libya will be the perfect excuse to slam fuel up even more, and as usual, the UK will moan, then bend over and get shafted by its own government
UK citizens are slowly being taxed to death by the people who are meant to protect them, wheres our help going to come from?
