an interesting read for all those that thought a new cfw would be out within hours, i wont say i told you so but this might enlighten you as to why and if ever there will be a cfw 3.56.

remember all that sony fail talk? well i remember saying its there console and they will be cleverer than we/you think and whatever was found would and could be fixed.

everyone started shouting no no no we have the keys we can do what we want.

have a read to see why its not as easy as you first thought it was.

Good read so looks like the guys at Sony have done something right but it's all a game of cat and mouse. Your turn now hackers lol

Well the thing is if it's correct that the numbers are indeed random now (and that fookup was how they got in) then how can anyone possibly predict or circumvent this ? Might not mean the end but for me this is as good as admitting defeat as we're ever going to get. Looks like 3.55 is the ceiling for free games and it's new PS3 time if you want to play online once the dns trick gets closed off again. Or going back legit with ofw. I'll be going forward with that assumption rather than wait for 3.56 cfw which is looking rather enigmatic to say the least....I wonder why ? ;)

good post on the same forum from wutangrza in reply:

It's definitely no longer possible to install CFW once you install 3.56 OFW, but I wouldn't think that 3.56 CFW in general would be impossible forever.

3.55 can decrypt read and install 3.56, and we have all the keys for everything 3.55 can do.

I mean logically, 3.55 can make sense of all the files contained in the 3.56 PUP, so all the things needed to make sense of the 3.56 PUP are either already contained in 3.55 or are at least readable in the 3.56 PUP.

That said, there really doesn't seem to any point in 3.56 CFW. With the remote code execution, there's really no way to beat that, and the only advantage 3.56 has over 3.55 is PSN access. Since there's no good way to beat that, there's no real good reason to bother making a 3.56 CFW since even if you did you still wouldn't get PSN access. Aside from PSN, 3.55 can do everything 3.56 can, so why bother?

edit: Oh, I'm stupid and forgot how encryption works for a second. Of course we can decrypt everything in the PUP, but we won't be able to reencrypt because we'll never get the private keys.

Well its not the end, remember failoverfl0w have all the keys needed or so they say, these are the private keys not the public ones.

So its in there or someone else who may have thems ball court.

I think the way forward is 3.55 with edited things to make future games work as they will require 3.56 and up.

I also think that as the ps3 is like a computer that online wont die but will be in the form of pc like servers much like pc games use.

All speculation but one things for sure it isnt the end its just a stumbling block.

I posted the link really to show all the people logging in each day for new cfw that they could be waiting a while for anything.
