Its here folks! and its real!! Geohot is back big time with limera1n jailbreak for all iOS devices including: iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPod touch 4G / 3G / 2G, untethered running iOS 4.1.

The following instructions will help you jailbreak iOS 4.1 on iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS using Limera1n.

NOTE: If you rely on an unlock, do not update to iOS 4.1 yet as doing so will upgrade your baseband, making it impossible for now to unlock. Either use TinyUmbrella to update to iOS 4.1 without update baseband Instructions here, or wait for PwnageTool which will help you cook custom firmware files for iOS 4.1 without the upgraded baseband.

Limera1n is currently available for Windows only. Mac and Linux version are expected to drop soon. Stay tuned as we will be back with full instructions on how to jailbreak iOS 4.1, on all devices with Limera1n.​

Step 1 download from limera1n
Step 2: Connect your iPhone via USB to your computer and click on “make it ra1n” as seen in the screenshot below.

Step 3: Now follow the following steps in this order:

Now wait for the device to enter recovery mode:

Now hold “Home” + “Power” buttons:

Release the “Power” button:

now wait for the device to enter DFU mode:

Step 4: Once you are done with this, you will have the limera1n logo on your iPhone’s screen. Limera1n will now inject the bootrom exploit to pwn your device forever!

Step 5: Jailbreak is done!

Step 6: Now start Limera1n app from your iPhone, and install Cydia as shown in the screenshots below.

Step 7: Now simply restart your device and enjoy the jailbreak!


Unlock for iOS 4.1 (Old Baseband)
There is currently no way to unlock your iPhone on the latest 05.14.02 baseband. If you have managed to preserve your baseband while upgrading to iOS 4.1 using TinyUmbrella, you can use the existing version of Ultrasn0w to unlock your iPhone on iOS 4.1. Step by step HERE

sorry if its a new question but my 3gs is currently jb'd on 4.0 can i update to 4.1 with firmware downloaded from somewhere to legit 4.1 then use limera1n to re jailbreak or am i totally missing the point, cheers.

Worked a treat on new iphone 4 that was running 4.1. i now have cydia back... thanks Mate well done for posting. Follow the video tut... It was easy

Yes mate if u want to and follow the video tut , make sure u backup your itunes

does it cover the iphone 3g ?? as it says all iOS devices but no mention on the 3g iphone ??

is it 4.1 that updates the phones baseband so becomes unable to unlock??

IF U want your unlock mate dont update to 4.1 until ultra sn0w has been updated DEPENDING what your bootrom version is , i had no luck on 2 iphone 3g`s downgrading my baseband with the updated version of Fuzzyband 4.1.1 from 5.14.02 to 05.13.04 and ultrasn0w wont either yet until an update
The only way is if you used Tinyumbrella to update to 4.1 guide to do this is in the 1st post

thanks biffo do you by any chance have link to where i can download 4.1 from i dont want to download it from just anywhere just in case and am i right in saying i hold shift when im pressing update in itunes or can i just press update in itunes and let that do it, cheers again.

sorry for being thick mate but what do you mean if i want to loose my jailbreak dont upgrade because i thought if i upgraded in itunes i could then jailbreak with limera1n? sorry for all the questions its just i dont want to screw it up im allready regreting one fw update this month with my ps3.

Hi Marra if you update to 4.1 which you can update in itunes, if you require your idevice to be unlocked , by updating your fw you will inturn up date your baseband to 5.14.02 , which ive tied using fuzzyband, with ultrasn0w with ice, i had no joy doing so at the moment there are only a few iphones that can be unlocked as i like a numpty forgot to use tinyumbrella to update to 4.1[The only way is if you used Tinyumbrella to update to 4.1 guide to do this is in the 1st post]

This does not seem to tie in with the Baseband versions you are talking about.

Your not being stupid mate thats the iphone 4 basband the 2 3 g phones i updated have baseband 5.12.02 and my 3gs has a base band 05.13.04

good question mate , i think your ok to do so but let me find out,

went ahead and used limerain to jailbreak

all done fine, installed installous, now ready to get some apps

do i have to use installous, or can i use the downloads from the cracked listings and just install via itunes

currently got iphone4 on 4.0.2 already been saved with tiny but just tried to update to 4.1 got error3002 any ideas about this or can i still use lime on 4.0.2??
