i was about to ask this, the epg is rubbish on 500S, is their a plugin that we can install that gives a list of epg like the cable version of 500 does?

The 500 does not have enough ram to store it. It can be done but you would need to set up a mount to a hard drive on your network to store the downloaded epg.

use dreambox edit to transfer the files across to the box. Set up for the ip address of your dm500 and use enigma 1 settings.

login is root
password is dreambox

i can see the box and ftp accross. I send over the files that you gave me but it still does not take effect on the box itself.

Underdream boxedit options their is Sat reciver, Cable Reciver, Version 3 settings (engima) , new engima2 settings

their is no engima 1 settings

I've got Rytec Xml plugin running on OpenPli MaxVar on a DM 500s.. seems OK with 2 days worth of EPG running, with Cron updates at 6am every morning.

Got 7 days running on a DM600 with OpenPli, that has internal harddisc though so no issue...

Hi, mark yeah transferred all of the files within the folder over using dreambox edit and rebooted box. Still only favourites and last scanned folder are in bouqeuts nothing else.

In db edit does it say all files transferred correctly in the ftp log?

yes it shows all files sent correctly, but if i try again it says bouquet sky contains contains no services or lamedb file. I have done everything as posted in thread, paths for services & bouquets var/tuxbox/config/enigma, user bouquet files var/tuxbox/config/enigma and satellites xml file var/etc.

OK try this

FTP files across and then click reload settings on dreambox. Once the box has re-started do the same again.

I have tried that, the files do go across as i get more channels than i originally had and they go in alphabetical order but still only one bouquet. dont matter i have started to sort them out manually.

Any chance of an breakdown of getting this working. I have been looking at getting epg on my dm500s for ages!

Finally got the files over, rebooting box did not work for me and I couldn't find an option to reload channels on image. What I had to do was reload using the web browser put this in your browser (change the xx,s for your dreambox ip) 192.168.xxxx/cgi-bin/reloadUserBouquets refresh and 192.168.x.xxx/cgi-bin/reloadSettings. Hope this helps
