Internal Fan Schmatic. 800 clone

Hi folks,

Looking at getting rid of that little fan on my clone, the one that goes BUZZZZ silent BUZZZZ for about 3 mins when cold.

I am thinking about getting out the dremmell and cutting a hole in the middle, i dont use an internal HDD so i was going to put a fan inside and a grill on the outside.

has anyone done this? if so where do you attache the fan power in order to only have it spinning when box is on?

Ha, nice. no ok its more like a humming than a buzzing

I would like to connect an 80cm fan to the board or to the SATA pins. any suggestions appreciated

Peal the label of it and put a drop of oil on the spindle and you could also move it to here

what if you want to put a hdd init

Isnt its purpose to cool the heatsink though? i like the idea though as the original doesnt have one.

The op said in his first post he dont use a hdd in it thats why i suggested moving the fan to that location.

you can still fit a fan in with a hdd in it.

I have internal HDD, internal & external fan & it's very quiet.
