DSi Acekard TUT

Although quite easy to figure out, thought I'd list the setup in one place.
Consider the 1.4 firmware fix onto the Acekard before taking the update from Nintendo (or you'll need access to a DSlite).
Read all the way through before starting.

Get your Acekard 2i and a MicroSD card.

Download the required software for the Acekard (current best is AKAIO 1.5)
Available from acekard.com. Unzip the contents (__aio folder and ak2menu4.nds)

Put the microSD into your PC and drag the __aio folder and the ak2menu4.nds onto the root of the card.

Next you need a current loader file.
Get the latest 2i loader (google akaio loader).
Put this .nds file into this folder on your microSD card /__aio/loaders.

That's the card setup and will work on DSi firmware upto 1.3
ROMs just go onto the root of the card.

If you've upgraded, or want to in-order to install the Internet browser you need the 1.4 firmware fix.
This can be done in 2 ways (DSi or with a DSlite).

right ive seen this a few times bud. so any help would be gratefull..
i updated my girls dsi to firmware 1.4 and have the acekardi for it which doesnt work now cause off it. i have a ds lite so i could do this bit u just said there. but i thought it was another dsi with version 1.3 i had to do update the card with. any help would be gratefull bud

Right m8 ive just got my kids acekard 2i's in the post after waiting about a month from deal extreme lol. And i updated my lads dsi to 1.4 after seeing that flipnote thing advertised i went to download it and i took the update.

My daughters dsi however was not updated luckily so i used that to upgrade i put the latest acekard firmware on it 4.18 which i put on the root of my 2gb micro sd card i then put on the 1.4 dsi update file available in that guide in the op.

Then i put the micro sd back in the acekard and inserted it into my daughters dsi then in the acekard menu i selected the micro sd and then the 1.4 dsi upgrade file press a then start to upgrade waited untill it had finished then rebooted the console the acekard image changed and so i tried it in my lads on 1.4 and it works .

I think when the op says you can do it on a dsi he means a dsi pre 1.4.

Many thanks to op as i thought id shot myself in the foot upgrading but came on here found this post which sorted me out in no time. Would be good to have as a sticky will help lots out im sure.

sorry sargie ive put that out wrong bud.
what i meant was i had my girls dsi workin with the acekardi no probs and she stayed at mines so i updated it not thinkin untill it was 2 late then i relised i couldnt use the acekard again. i found out about puttin a file on the card where u stick it in an dsi with a version lower than 1.4 and run it to upgate the card but no one i know has a dsi yet. when the guy posted (or you'll need access to a DSlite). i thought id missed something after searchin for ages on google about away around this..cause i have a ds lite in the house or mayb ive not read your post right and you,ve explained it to me and im not readin it right lol

The dslite is so you can update the card on it because they don't get upgraded. like in your case you can not upgrade on your dsi now you already updated it.well m8 if you need the card updating you could send it to me and ill do it for you on my daughters dsi which is still not on 1.4 if you like.

just to clarify, there's 2 update files.

DSi & DSlite

The DSi one can be used if you're on still on 1.3 or below firmware.
If you're on already on 1.4 you need access to a DSLite, to carry out the firmware fix.

what do u mean that bud though. do i need to put other software on the acekardi and run it on the ds lite cause i put the file on the card and put it in the dslite and if i can remember correctly it said error..

if i could id boot myself in the balls for bein a dumb ass. im askin people how to do this and gettin annoyed cause i thought in my head id done the ds lite thing before. but i just remembered i didnt cause the charger was different to the dsi. so i just took the card out the dsi and put it into the charged ds lite and like i said id already had all the files on there. so loaded the acekardi and what was i able to. upgrade the card. all the time i was able to do this and in my head id conviced myself id tired it lol just put game in dsi and result.wee girl will be happy again

Glad you got it sorted m8 and your very welcome. I know i was gutted when i thought id just got 2 acekards that i wouldnt be able to use unless i could get hold of a ds lite.

Make sure you out the DSL file on the card not the DSi (you have unzipped it?)

If you're running 1.4 DSi firmware, you need to put the DSLite update file on the root of your card and launch the file from a DSLite (within Acekard).
It will then ask you to take the card out and put it back and then install the new firmware fix to your Acekard.
Once done you can delete the DSLite file.
You'll now have the new game icon and once clicked will work as before but on 1.4 DSi firmware.

just ordered a acekard2i not looking forward to getting it to work (dnt have dslite anymore and my sons dsi is on v1.4e and i need to get it working by christmas day fingers crossed
