002 error

hi guys

whats exactly is a 002 error, im getting this with quite a few games ive dowloanded

its generated when a mod chip has been detected on your wii , there is 001 and 002 as of now , you need to update your chip to overcome this , or simply install the backup launcher and run it from that

much easier to just update the modchip 99% of the time... do you know what modchip it it?

Looking at other posts he's using the Backup Channel. Don't know which Backup Channel but if you get this problem try using the Backup Channel from the Softmod for Dummies which should be fixed or go on and use RiiskiMod/SoftMii.

im using the backup launcher from softmod for dummies. gamma 0.3, used to get 002 on need for speed underground until i loaded gamma and it works fine now. but still getting it on some other games

sorry but i thought this was an IOS problem?

if your a modchip user just either update from the pal disc or use the online update on the wii itself, as for softmodders you need to mess with things(as always lol)

delete your old one first in Wii menu.

if that fails reinstall cios_249.wad.

Exactly what I am trying to cure at the moment, seems the advice from english is the answer to this problem.

if it happens on your modchipped wii just hook it up to the net and update it or run the update from disc (aslong as the disc is pal) and should sort it

I too am getting the same error when running Sonic Black Knight and now Mad World..I am just gonna try another loader but was wondering if you'd managed to sort it 1st.

This worked for me with 002 error on Sonic and MadWorld

Highlander was telling me that he had this problem yesterday. All I think he did was install IOS 55 and 53 using the wad manager and then the games played fine

I have tried the WADs 53 & 55 and also the new gamma downloader as suggested by Jonnylovrod (both 50hz and forced 60hz and the screen goes pink, then stays that way) but neither of these will play. It still comes up with the 002 error.

any ideas?

Use the NTSC version to load Mad World

What also could help is installing cIOS36 rev8 instead of rev7 from what I've read.
