I have a DM600 and using pli-iolite. The box has stopped working and when i reboot it gets as far as the thank you for choosing pli message. I am unable to use the web interface and in dream up when i turn on the box when prompted it doesnt progress any further. has anyone got any ideas?

thanks

what happens when you press the OK button
sometimes this will take you into channel list

nothing happens apart from the led on the remote and the box blinking, but nothing appears on screen. its very weird

also tried turning the box off for 15 mins as well and i get the same thing. i meant to say in my first post that i had downloaded a new skin and had applied it and it was during the restart for this that the problem occured. really hope someone knows how to fix this

maybe someone else will have a better option to what Im going to advise

but try flashing dream original software back on first then try transfering your backup on

also remember that the boxes ip might have changed too m8 .. my boxes do all the time if lm playing around with them .. if u want to see wot it is through a router install network magic , its a trial but thats not a problem , it will find the box and its ip . then ftp your backup to tmp and then telnet

run>run> telnet ip.(ip of the box)

root
dreambox

then paste this in

cd /tmp && eraseall /dev/mtd/3 && cp backup.img /dev/mtd/3 && reboot

thanks guys got it sorted out, just out of curiousity does anyone know the main differences between the iolite 2008 (NOT may) and jade images?

thanks

how did u do it m8 . might help others

i downloaded the most recent version of dreamup (1.3.3.2) and used the option under extras to recover bad sectors. This version of dreamup wouldnt flash any image to my box so i used an earlier version that i had in my backups (1.3.2.1) and it worked perfectly. if i didnt use the recover bad sectors option, the earlier version of dreamup wouldnt work either.
