Hopefully someone can help -

I gave my old clone 500c to a friend (when I bought my spanking new 600), I flashed / erased the box with the DW 1.6.2 image and tested to see that it could find the transponder on my cable feed and all was well before I gave it to him.

He said that he plugged it in, it started the setup screen then the screen went blank, all other attempts to start it up just give a blank screen.
The green light does come on (although it won't go to standby by pressing the power switch on the box).

I've tried to reflash it using DreamUp v. 1.3.0.2 (as part of the DreamTool), it begins reflashing / loading the image, before getting about 6 mins in and giving an error message of "ERROR, upload aborted!"

When I try to Flash-Erase it comes up with "ERROR resetting lock-bits".

Anyone got any ideas what is wrong with it or how to fix it?

Try using another version of dreamup. There's loads and loads of versions.

Try the latest one from their website.

Thanks for the reply.

I've tried flashing with the latest version from their website (v. 1.3.2.0) and have also tried v.1.2.1.5, but they all give the same error message.

Is there anything else you can suggest?

Mmm...can't think of anything else. I was going to suggest to do 2 flash erase before you try to flash it again but just read it back and it seems you've been doing that.

Is it under warranty? Contact the seller and see what they say.

Thanks. One other thing that I've noticed that if I close everything down and then go through the connection and choose Flash Erase first of all, the Flash Erase is successfully completed, but when I then try to flash a new image on the box I get the error message.

zaf786 - thanks for erash image, but that doesn't work either.

It's a Peng cloned box, so I not sure what kind of warranty (if any) it has with it, but I'll contact him tommorrow.

Try and do several (two or three) flash erase in a row, by whatever method you need to, before trying to flash a new image.

I only ever use dreamup 1.2.2.0. Also perhaps try the composite instead of scart or visa versa.
