Hi
I have a dell dimension 520 which has been running windows 7 with no probs for 12 months.
Since yesterday the speaker icon in system tray has a little x on a red background next to it saying ‘No Audio Output device is installed’.
No audio devices appear in device manager so nothing for me to roll back/ install new drivers to.
As the the sound for this PC is an onboard chip (Sigmatel 9227) can I assume that the chip is knackered and I will have to install a separate sound card?
Thanks
