or you lot who have been had for mugs too many times could stick your TM800 on ebay and get £50+ and buy a Duo clone for £149 which im sure will have much better support than anything TM will ever have.

Dont think its meant to be a TM bashing thread, Its an offer that may interest some people. to be honest I couldn't see other STB maker offering it.

Duo clones at 149, thats a cracking price I thought they were closer to 190/200 delivered. VU Duo clone will probably be my next purchase once im convinced Ferarri team can provide software support...already the fix/workaround for newer drivers which was scheduled for release looks it's delayed....

" We are testing security IC update of our VU boxes. We plan release update software changes security IC contents. The update should be done by the included serial cable. VU company changed the security IC contents and we have to do the same. Older images should not be affected by the update. The update solves CFE 3.0 boot loader with memory extension." That was 08/1/2012...

The trade in TM offer depends on the overall quality of the TM TWIN, never know maybe they'll pull a rabbit out of a hat.... in which case it might be a good deal..

If not then I agree the better option for TM800 owners is to sell privately and buy something non TM that actually works properly... Problem being if this is a time limited offer which it probably is, you can end up shafted agian...by buying a new unproven product...

Guys for the past 8 years I have drove an Alfa Romeo

My first one covered 250'000 miles before I decided I didn’t want to replace the clutch due to the value of the vehicle, so I traded it in for the newer 159 which I have covered just over 90'000 miles in.

During this time, neither vehicle has broken down other than a puncture, yet pretty much at least once a week someone somewhere asks how often doe's it break down?

People always seem to judge companies on past models etc... Which is fair enough and in a way is understandable

However, many times in the past it has proven this is not necessary the right and correct thing to do... because rabbits can be pulled out of the hat.

Time will tell on this particular subject

I cant see where people can keep finding good points and comparing a satellite box to cars lol

has the Alfa Romeo depeciated in value (new) by around 45% in 2 years, and I bet the Alfa Romeo has been worked on to improve the faults it once had to make it a better car like you say it is now

:)

@Rat do you want to buy my watch, I will do it at a bargain price for you??

My point of that question is you cant really answer it, because you have no idea what it looks like, or what it can do etc etc

pretty much the same as most people reading about this reciever

Ricky I say things how I see them mate
I don't get taken in for long and I only belive for a certain amount of time before I think enough is enough

TM know full well the tm800 don't do half it's advertised to do and some things it does do don't work fully or need adaptors

If it was sold as a basic HD box with no mention of open source etc then maybe things would be different

My cheap Chinese clone 800SE does everything perfectly at a fraction of the cost my TM800 cost me

The point is we know what all the rest of the TM Linux recievers can do...more importantly NOT do properly..even after 2 years...and continued lies, propoganda and time wasting...
Like most people, if you've been stung once...you got to be stupid to get stung again...without concrete evidence that everythings in order...which at this point there is no evidence.
So far it's same old TM....announce a price of 299....suddenly it jumps to 329 before release....TM800HD memories anyone ? originally due to be sub 200....releases at 250...
Any change in who provides the hardware and software images and support or lack of ??? Probably not....so whats changed exactly ? Time will indeed tell..

i bought a daewoo for £5k, in 18 months, spent another £4k 'fixing' the poxy thing, and in the end, scrapped it for £200

the main major fault with it was all the programming

4 years ago i bought an old battered BMW for £270. since then ive spent about a grand on it (dropped a new engine in after the bottom of the original engine had an arguement with the top of the engine, and left, while i was on the motorway) and quite a bit of 'other' work, all done by a rally prep garage, and its now been the best car ive ever owned

with the TM-TWIN, i do know 101% that the hardware is broadcom and a million miles from the NXP chip thats in the TM800 (and TM500HD i think) its like a Vu+ Duo, on speed

the software is still being tested, tweaked, etc, i think theyve learned their lesson since the TM800, but the one VERY noticable thing about it, for me, is how fast it is

wether or not this will 'heal' TMs reputation, only time will tell. With it being broadcom, other teams may take an interest. if no other teams take an interest, then i think itll be just another stagnant receiver in an already crowded market thats fighting for customers

Feck im confused now. Dont know if i want to buy a car or a watch or a feckin technomate. This thread is strange lol.

@digidude
I know you are beta testing one of these and I presume you are giving input back to the developers.
Does it have power coming from the RF out or can it be added? Would be a great advantage if it could use a magic eye like the sky boxes.

buy a car, put a dish on the back, a tv inside, and watch something off a technomate receiver on the screen

for about 3 years ive been saying this m8. in the TM-TWIN, this is not available, but i think im getting somewhere with how much i keep going on about this feature. you can buy aftermarket 'addons' to recreate this function, for about £30, and control all of your gear via sky magic eyes

go to ebay and look for 'TVlink plus kit'

I use the Global ones for this, you have to buy everything seperate, powerpack, eye, transmitter but it works out a few quid cheaper, not as cheap as jst the magic eye though.

good things come to those who wait, maybe for a long time :nopity: well i bought this box now i will wait
