CHEAP boxes .. ? DODGY ?

to be honest mate i would pay the extra and buy from uk so you get some good uk customer service should anything go wrong with the box, i paid £189 for mine when they 1st came out from ukdreamshop, and it was well worth it, there great boxes!

Dreambox HD, Dreambox 800 HD, Dreambox 500s, Dreambox 500c, DM800HD, DM500s, DM500

Anyone had any dealings with these. ???
The prices are too good to be true , but the testimonials seem good ?
really want a M revision DM800hd !

They are sponsors of another forum ,but the site is only up and running a few months.
The prices are good but bear in mind that the items are sent from China and delivery is an extra 30-40 euro.
In the faq it says
How much VAT will I get charged by Customs?
All Exports from China into the EU are charged VAT. We do our best to make sure the buyer is charged 0 VAT by valuing the package at $50 and marking it as gift. There will be a very small 6% chance customs will bill you VAT on arrival.
If its valued at $50 ,DHL will always charge customs ,the limit is 22 euro .

get it sent EMS, never had problems from China with EMS. Even when ordering 10 boxes at a time.

a mate of mine bought 20 of these and he has had 6 of them go tits up on him, now he is buying off me, tm5402 hd for his customers, uk box, great support, and cheaper with 12 months warrantie

add it all up they only use paypal and charge you about £6 for the privalidge they only use dhl no other option and postage is about £23 you will get vat as dhl will def charge for this so that is another 20%on top of cost then dhl also charge you a handling fee as well add this all up and you are at about £170 plus and have to send it back to china when it turns up wrong or not working .and you will also have to buy an adapter plug approx £2 to £5 where as english sellers have to provide the adapter by law for all electrical sales
check some english suppliers and you can get for this type of money maybe another tenner to £15 more but then you are covered under our sale of goods act etc
does it still look cheap when you add all the extras?

totally off topic but does cccam work ok on these boxes or does it have disconection /glitching problems like some other non linux boxes

ive used a Blade Media 70000s receiver which i think the cccam works very similar to the 5402 and its pretty solid with no issues.

Back on topic though, i would save a little and go for a Vu+ Solo, a bit dearer yep, but your paying for a quality licensed E2 box instead of a copied illegal Dreambox ;)

imo obviously

TH5402 HD is a closed source non-linux box...so it's inferior to DM800HD and it's clones.

Linux recievers have far more features and flexibility, plugins, 7 day EPG's, Enigma 2, Choice of multiple images etc etc..

With China sellers use a reputable seller, otherwise you may run into issues with warranty etc..Dm800HD clones are now under 140 quid direct from China depending on exhange rates..or around 170 + from UK suppliers.

That particular supplier, uses DHL so you will almost definitely get hit with import tax...as mentioned use EMS if possible, never have import duty issues using EMS.

The DM800PRO with Rev M tuner seems to be getting decent reviees, tuner issues seem to be resolved..from reports i've read..

Ive got a few DM800HD boxes from China through Alibaba or AliExpress. Got them delivered via DHL. Ive never been charged VAT or excise duty, because of the labeling the seller puts on it. And i get it in about 4 days from purchase. I havent had any issue with them, but i always make sure to have a USB powered fan on top of them even if a HDD is not installed, as they have a tendency to become very hot. With the fan they are cold to the touch.

That site isnt cheap at all for clones. Its just the going rate.

The going rate for clones as of an hour ago was 150USD including p&P delivered using EMS and paid using paypal. The clone manufacturers are undercutting each other and theres a big price war happening in china.

So anyone buying dm800hd clones for 180 now (which was the going rate about a month ago) is being ripped off.

personally im testing some other boxes now to see the differences but dreamboxes still looking the best option so far. Have an orig and a clone side by side and finding them no different at all.

150USD delivered ? Thats damm good..is that for single units or quantity. Can you drop me a PM of which supplier your using to get that price.

I take it this for the new DM800 Pro Units rev M tuners, not old stock ?

If the 150 USD price is from the company I think it is...then these are not the new DM800 Pro units with Rev M tuners and Fan Switch off in standby.

They are the old version clones with L3 tuners, looks like theyre trying to clear out old stock, maybe the new 500HD clones due soon or the 800SE clones..

So you can buy a clone dm800 delivered to a UK address for £93.80??

Not sure yet but..150USD / £93.80 per unit yes (L3 Tuner version), but it's not clear if this is including shipping to UK im waiting on clarification...
