Ps3 help!

they can come anytime, but both of mine came about 11.30 ish

astra you had 2 done did there not keep your info on there system from the first one you had done or did you use diff address for second one???
 
recieved mine last night...well happy :)

they tried to deliver it on wednesday as said but as typical had to pop out for literally 10mins and they came within that time, so redelivered yesterday...happy days:)

Wondering If I should hand In my 40Gb model and get a new one.
 
astra guess what i got not a 80 the sent me a 60 gig looks new so that is a new one with all its card slots on the front lol
 
So am i right in thinking if i purchase a faulty PS3 give them the serial off an 80gb model i will have the faulty one replaced?

Maybe i could try eBay for a faulty one then!

YLOD is usually overheating problem (crappy thermal paste they used ) sony charge 128 quid and replace with a refurbished unit if they have a 60 gig to replace they will send that otherwise normally a 80 gig model and give a 3 month warranty if you want to attempt to repair it yourself its the same method as RROD for xbox 360
 
Well guys an update on this story

I phoned sony yesterday and gave them the serial number off my 40g with the cechm03 at the end, went through the all the cr*p with him, so the guy eventually says yes it in warranty and yes it needs to come in, so he said that they would pick up the console today for REPAIR, and that it will take up to 3 weeks before I get it back.

He did say exchange first then changed it to repair in the same breath, so I didn't know if that was just to put people off from trying it on and to flush out the ones that said no they just wanted an exchange.

Well the courier came today and guess wot I had to send him away with the same as he came with,

"NOTHING"

so I guess that answers the question if sony have caught on yet and the answer to that one is a great big yes, so NO MORE gooooood exchanges.

So hopefully the people that makes things like this public knowledge far to quick will MAYBE learn a valuble lesson from this, because it could be them next time that wants to get somthing changed and can't because other people have spoiled for everyone else by not keeping things under wraps.

Yes sony would of caught on eventually, but everyone could of maybe enjoyed it for another couple of months if it had been kept quiet a bit longer.

the thing is once sony pick up your ps3 it is scanned at there end once there see that the ps3 is no longer in gtee there will ring you or send out a letter for you to contact them e.g telling you the only way to get this unit fixed it by paying a 128 pounds

no i give them one for a 80gig system still said there would pick it up and there did and thats when there ring you once there get it in at there end but thats life i guess i paid and got a new one back so some yer win some yer lose
